Structural Timber Association (STA) and PEFC UK Ltd visit Gordon Timber

Gordon Timber recently hosted delegates from the Structural Timber Association (STA) and PEFC UK Ltd to facilitate discussions around the delivery plan for the Timber in Construction Roadmap (TICR). The visit included a tour of our operations, demonstrating how logs are converted into structural timber through precise grading and controlled drying processes. Waste is minimised throughout production, with by-products often repurposed with all co-products having specific markets. The tour highlighted how local processing supports the full timber lifecycle, underpinned by robust chain-of-custody systems that ensure traceability. UK-grown timber is increasingly recognised as a viable, low-carbon alternative for mainstream construction.
