Mental Health Awareness Week

17 May 2024

Please be aware that for this week, Monday 13th May to Sunday 19th May it is Mental Health Awareness week.

A lot of work has gone on over the last few years via some good campaigns around the stigma of the importance of everyone’s mental health.

Mental Health is no joke and even happens to who we see as the biggest and bravest people who would never be affected by this.

Please remember that it is okay not to be okay and that there are several avenues of support readily available in this day and age.

Some sobering stats are that in Scotland in 2022/23 there were 111,130 delayed discharge bed days occupied in Mental Health specialties, compared to 98,716 bed days for 2021/22.

The rate of delayed discharges among the 18+ population increased to 24.9 per 1,000 in 2022/23, compared to 22.2 per 1,000 in 2021/22.

If you do not wish to speak to anyone you know then the following organisations are all a phone call or a text away or have some really good stuff on their websites

Please look at the below video if you can, you may think that the loudest and happiest people on the outside are okay, but that is not always the case, It is important to check up on everyone, no matter how you think they are.
