Coronavirus update

4 April 2020

Dear Customers, Timber Suppliers and Hauliers,
Coronavirus – Mill suspension update
As an update from the previous e-mail of last week, our priority continues to be the health and wellbeing of our staff. In line with UK and Scottish Government guidance, Gordon Timber will continue to suspend primary production at the sawmill as the vast majority of our staff go onto the Government’s Furlough scheme for an initial three week period, commencing Monday 6th April.

The limited despatches planned are restricted to essential supplies based on food, pharma, safety or animal welfare needs and then only once a risk assessment had been carried out. For essential timber supplies, please contact us, providing evidence of the nature of your business and despatches may be possible, where stocks allow.

The Senior Management Team have been working extremely hard together and with their own departments trying to make the best decisions for the Staff , the Company and its customers, suppliers, and hauliers, whilst keeping up to date with Government advice in this fast moving situation.

We value greatly the trading relationship we have with you and are committed to preserving this both throughout and after this Coronavirus pandemic has ceased. With cash being so important for everyone’s businesses we are working hard to honour our current creditor commitments in that respect and would appreciate greatly our customers continuing making their payments to us on time.

Due to the Furloughing of staff, there will be limited cover for the office phone numbers; for enquiries please use your normal direct contact details or e-mail jgs.sales@gordontimber.co.uk or call 07801 500 736

Best wishes,
Rod Gordon & Scott Gordon
Joint Managing Directors
