Gordon Timber

Coronavirus – Suspension of Deliveries and Sawmill activities

Dear Customers, Timber Suppliers and Hauliers

26 March 2020

With our priority being the health and wellbeing of our staff, in line with UK and Scottish Government guidance, Gordon Timber have suspended timber operations this week and shall be taking next week (w/c 30th March) as an early Easter break. The mill will be closed all of next week and we will not be accepting goods in or residues out.

Over the next few days, deliveries are prioritised based on Government and Timcon (Timber Industry Confederation) guidance, being limited to the supply to “essential” industries; this includes pallet wood to support logistics of food and pharmaceuticals. Unfortunately, the production and distribution of other categories of timber will remain suspended. Timcon guidance is attached, supporting our decision.
As we seek clarification from Government, we will continue to keep matters under review and update you as the situation changes.

We appreciate your business loyalty through these unprecedented times.

Due to staff working from home, there will be limited cover for the office phone numbers; for enquiries please use your normal direct contact details or e-mail jgs.sales@gordontimber.co.uk or call 07591419796

Best wishes,
Rod Gordon & Scott Gordon
