Assistant Production Manager
Starting Salary £35,000 – £38,000 dependant on experience
Location: Balblair Road, Nairn IV12 5LY
About the Role
We are looking for a driven and hands-on Assistant Production Manager to support efficiencies and output across the entire Ari Mill Complex. This includes the Main Mill, Sorter 1 and Sorter 2.
You’ll work closely with the Production Manager to optimise processes, reduce downtime, and help ensure we reach daily and weekly production targets.
What You’ll Do
· Ensure all health & safety policies are consistently followed across all production areas.
· Develop a strong understanding of the full production process, including practical work on machinery, to identify opportunities for improvement.
· Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing production activities across the mill complex.
· Prioritise and schedule work to meet targets in a timely and cost-effective manner.
· Analyse production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to drive output.
· Create production plans and schedules to maintain smooth and continuous operations.
· Develop strategies to minimise downtime and prevent delays.
· Drive process improvements that enhance workflow efficiency.
· Ensure all output meets required customer specifications and quality standards.
· Provide regular updates and report any production issues to the Production Manager.
· Support the training and multi-skilling of team members.
· Produce production-related reports as required.
· Escalate complex or urgent matters to the Production Manager for immediate attention.
· Attend daily planning and sales meetings.
